Christmas joy in 1967 was a
Polaroid Instamatic camera unwrapped by eager hands. Even at that young age, thirsty eyes needed a way to slake the right brain's desire to create.
Moving through staff photo jobs and cameras: small weekly newspaper to small daily newspaper to large daily metro newspaper, Polaroid to Yashica to Nikon still cameras, life itself was captured through thousands and thousands of assignments near and far.
Still the eyes need to impose order on a fleeting world. So here we are shooting, laughing, loving and living.
Some brief details -
I was a staff photographer for four different newspapers on both the east and west coast. After fifteen years, I bailed and went freelance.
My wife and I have been married for over twenty years. We
adopted our daughter from China.
I run
ultramarathons. I've successfully finished
The Vermont 100 Mile Endurance Run,
The Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run and
The Leadville 100 Mile Trail Run If you'd like to read my first person account of running Leadville, go
here.
My favorite things to shoot are environment portraits, photojournalistic weddings and ultrarunning.
I'm easy to work with.
Smiles,
Geoff
